We were able to bring Jackson home on October 5 and it was definitely a day of mixed emotions! We were so grateful and excited that he was healthy enough to be going home but we were very nervous for the chance that he may have similar issues at home. There was a large sense of comfort at the hospital when we had doctors and nursers willing and able to help us at the press of a button (literally!). So far, he has done fabulous since being home! His reflux medicine seems to really be helping and he hasn't had any breathing issues at all. =)
Reagan has adjusted to her brother being home, for the most part, and she is quite the little helper! It was hard at first, which is to be expected, but she loves Jackson so much! When he cries, she wants to comfort him - she will give him his pacifier, rub his belly, give him a blanket, and one day he was crying in the car and she said "Aww buddy - I love you!" That of course made me cry and she has just been fantastic with him! The only issue we are still having is her stealing his pacifier and putting it in her mouth. She only gets hers in bed or in the car so she likes to sneak in more paci time by taking her brother's!
